Missoni now has its first residential address in Abu Dhabi. Waterfront by Missoni is a new tower on Al Reem Island with 250 homes, water on two sides and a beach at the base of the building.
The Italian fashion house is building it with Abu Dhabi developer Emirates Developments. The project launched in October 2026. Apartments start from AED 1.9 million, and handover is planned for 2030.
The launch adds a new name to Al Reem Island, one of the most active property markets in the capital. Buyers can now choose a home with Italian interiors, a beach downstairs and the city a few minutes away.
Ottavio and Rosita Missoni founded the brand in 1953 in a small town in northern Italy. Their zigzag knit pattern became one of the most recognised designs in fashion. Today Missoni also creates furniture, fabrics and interiors under the Missoni Home name.
In this project, Missoni designs the shared spaces and the interiors of every apartment. You see the zigzag from the street: in the facade, in the coloured paving around the pool deck and in the middle section of the tower. Inside, it carries through to the cushions, throws and fabrics in each home.
The tower itself is oval, wrapped in horizontal fins that make the facade look like woven fabric. Planted balconies run up the building and add green to every level.

Emirates Developments is based in Abu Dhabi and builds branded homes with international names. Missoni is one of four brands it works with:
The tower stands in Shams Abu Dhabi, one of the most established parts of Al Reem Island. A canal runs along one side of the building and the sea along the other. Depending on the apartment, residents look out over the sea, the canal, the city or the green community side.
Everything a family needs is a few minutes’ drive away:
Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi is also on the island. Cleveland Clinic and The Galleria mall are just across the water on Al Maryah Island. Downtown Abu Dhabi is around 10 minutes by car, Saadiyat Island is a short drive away, and the airport takes about 25 minutes.

Al Reem Island is part of Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), the capital’s financial free zone. Since 2025, ADGM has kept the island’s property register under English common law, a system many international buyers already know.
For off-plan buyers, this means a standard sales agreement where payments are linked to construction progress. Foreign buyers can own property on Al Reem on a freehold basis.
The tower offers one- to four-bedroom apartments, plus two penthouses on the top floor. Two-bedroom homes make up more than half of the building. The higher you go, the fewer homes there are on each floor and the larger they get.
On the upper floors, the balconies grow with height, so the higher you live, the more outdoor space you get.
Every home is handed over fitted, with built-in kitchen appliances and wardrobes made to Missoni’s design. The interiors follow one calm palette:

The first two floors are set aside for residents, with 11 amenities in total. Missoni styled all of them, so the shared areas match the design of the apartments.
One-bedroom apartments start from AED 1.9 million, two-bedrooms from AED 2.6 million and three-bedrooms from AED 5.5 million. Four-bedroom homes start from AED 8.5 million, and penthouse prices are available on request.
The payment plan is 40/60. Buyers pay 5% on booking, then small equal instalments every six months while the tower is built. The remaining 60% is due on handover, planned for Q2 2030.
This keeps the payments during construction light. It also gives buyers more than three years to arrange a mortgage or other funds for the final payment.
Al Reem is one of the busiest property markets in Abu Dhabi. According to the Abu Dhabi Real Estate Centre, it was the second most active area in the emirate in the first quarter of 2026.
Knight Frank reports that apartment prices on Al Reem and Yas Island rose by about 18% in the 12 months to mid-2026. The island also has the largest housing stock of all Abu Dhabi’s investment zones, which supports an active rental market. Tenants include people working in the ADGM financial district, university staff and families who use the local schools.
