Erling Haaland has bought a home in Abu Dhabi. The Manchester City striker announced it in a video shown at an event at Etihad Arena, and said his father, Alfie Haaland, had bought a house there too.
Both homes are in Manchester City Yas Residences by Ohana, a new club-branded community on Yas Island. The news puts one of Abu Dhabi’s biggest launches of 2026 back in the spotlight for buyers.
In the video, Haaland said he was joining the Manchester City project and that he and the buyers “will be neighbours in Abu Dhabi”. He added that he had got a house, and so had his father.
Alfie Haaland, who also played for Manchester City, attended the event as a guest.
The exact property type and price have not been made public.
Manchester City Yas Residences is a gated waterfront community by Ohana Development. It is the first residential project in the world branded by a football club.
Manchester City and Ohana signed the partnership in January 2026. Ohana officially launched the project in February 2026, with a total value of AED 15 billion, or around $4.1 billion.
The community covers 1.67 million square metres along the Yas Canal. That is roughly the size of 230 football pitches.
It will have more than 2,000 homes, including townhouses, villas and penthouses.

Ohana Development is based in Abu Dhabi. According to its website, the company holds a portfolio worth $5 billion, focused on luxury homes.
Manchester City has worked in Abu Dhabi for years. More than 3,500 children take part in City Football Schools programmes across the emirate each season, and the club runs the Manchester City Abu Dhabi Cup, the largest youth football tournament in the region.
For Ohana, the club brand gives the project a ready audience of fans around the world.
The centre of the community is a Manchester City Training Academy. It will have football fields, a tactical room, a gym, and recovery suites with cryotherapy, hydrotherapy, oxygen therapy and altitude training rooms.
Residents will also get a Crystal Lagoon, a canal promenade, a City Café, a City Lounge and a match-day terrace.
These are the same types of facilities elite players use. For Haaland, they match the training and recovery routine he follows at home in England.
The project sits on Yas Island, home to Ferrari World, SeaWorld, Warner Bros. World and Yas Marina Circuit.
Zayed International Airport is 10-15 minutes away by car. Dubai is 50-60 minutes away.
For residents, this means theme parks, the F1 circuit, malls and beaches are a short drive away. For investors, Yas Island attracts both tourists and long-term tenants.

Buyer interest was high from the start. According to Ohana, the project recorded AED 6 billion, or around $1.63 billion, in sales within 72 hours of launch in March 2026. That set a new sales record for Abu Dhabi.
Haaland’s purchase follows this early demand. He is the first current Manchester City player to publicly buy into the project.
Launch listings showed 3-bedroom townhouses from AED 4.75 million and 4-bedroom villas from AED 6 million. Payment plans of 50/50 and 35/65 are available.
Handover is expected in Q4 2029.
